Surface Preparation
Aquablast pioneered the use of UHP water jetting 30 years ago in the North Sea offshore oil and gas industry at pressures over 40,000 psi.
The ability to achieve near white metal surface preparation without traditional abrasives has eliminated wind-blown blasting grits and the high cost of transporting and disposing of spent abrasives.
The system uses minimal volumes of fresh water which creates minimal reaction force to manual blasting lance operators. For large vertical areas the Aquablast ‘Octopus’ remote-controlled robot can strip rust and scale at over 30m2 per hour and totally recover all water and debris. Totally blocked heat exchanger or boiler tubes can be quickly restored to rifle-barrel cleanliness.
Today Aquablast operates a fleet of 60,000 psi self-contained waterjet systems, the highest operating pressure in commercial use. Specialised application tooling for unique or difficult access situations is designed and fabricated in-house.
For brick and stone cleaning, the speedy removal of graffiti or road markings, and for anti-foul or entire coating removal from steel or GRP boat hulls, our Aquablaster© dustless, low volume wet abrasive system is the perfect solution and is available for hire or purchase.
Specialised Services
Aquablast has become a recognised specialist in a number of areas:
• Clearing “impossible” blockages – from fully-cured resins and epoxy adhesives which have “gone off” in the wrong place, to asphalt, bitumen and concrete obstructions in process pipework and vessels, Aquablast’s UHP 60,000 psi pumps, bespoke application tools and long-serving expert technicians have never been defeated:
• Decontamination of irradiated surfaces in the UK nuclear decommissioning programme of Magnox reactors – UHP waterjets have been shown to be highly effective in removing surface decontamination on concrete and steel allowing much simpler and cheaper disposal options for large structures:
• Abrasive waterjet “cold cutting” in the field using fine grit entrained in a UHP 60,000 psi waterjet to safely cut steel, concrete, or both together, in spark-free safety at hazardous locations in the petro-chemical industry.
Our TrackCut© robot can safely cut corroded oil storage tank floors (6mm) at over 25m per minute
Waterjet Precision Cutting
Aquablast operates a 4000mm x 1500mm (13’ x 8’) CNC-controlled 5-axis Jet Edge precision waterjet cutting table. We can cut with amazing precision to 0.03mm (1000th inch) tolerances with no heat affected zone when cutting metals.
Our 5-axis and laser surface mapping capability also permits precise angled cuts Any hard material such as marble, granite, concrete and composite materials can be cut no matter how intricate the design is and materials like rubber and vinyls can be cut without abrasives and just 2-3 litres/minute water.
As exclusive Jet Edge and Kamat distributors in UK we can supply complete UHP or HP pump systems for any purpose and provide comprehensive technical support 24/7 if required.
Recyclatrack Ltd
A unique process for total recycling of end-of-life rubber/steel digger tracks.
High volume 50,000 psi UHP water jet enclosed array achieves 100% separation of steel track core and rubber. Rubber produced as a fine wire-free, clean crumb which can be re-manufactured into new products.
Steel cores and high tensile wire cable recovered as clean, high-grade scrap for immediate recycling. Steel/rubber composite tracks up to 500mm width accepted.
They are a fully licensed facility and issue waste transfer notes for all consignments. Avoid landfill tax and recycle your scrap tracks using only low volumes of recycled water.
